Week #1 Dance

For week number one, I am going to learn about how emotions can be displayed through dance.Emotions are not just an idea in your head. The way you feel can also affect your body language and posture, for example, if your happy you'll probably feel 'loose' and jumpy, if your sad, you'll drag your feet, and have a droopy body and if your scared you'll tremble, or rap your arms around yourself. These body languages can be used in dance to display emotions. Alongside the right facial expressions, and music.

Here are some dance moves that I've learned to express fear, joy and sadnesss.

Dance moves that can help express fear include: not traveling or taking up to much space, scared facial expressions, trembling, and looking around anxiously while dancing.
Dance moves that help express happiness include: upbeat music, smiles, light and gradual movements and a lifted chest.
Lastly, dance moves that can help express sadness include; slower, sad music, gloomy facial expressions, heavy and slow movement, dancing on the floor and a collapsed chest.

Another very good way to Truly express your emotions in dance, is to go to a place free of distractions and turn on music that speaks to you. Or just listen to what's inside you, switch off  your thoughts, close your eyes and just start to move. Don't worry about what your doing, just dance and let your emotions pour out.
